Double wins, family rivalries and hard charges fuel three big nights at Hamilton County’s Fall Futurity

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (October 8-10, 2026) — Three nights of racing at Hamilton County Speedway produced a memorable Fall Futurity, with a brother-versus-brother battle, a two-division sweep and determined drives through the field highlighting the action on the half-mile oval.
Harley Dais opened the weekend with victories in both the Modified and Stock Car divisions. Joshua Monson and Dan Hovden followed their Thursday wins with repeat performances Friday, while Tyson Roush and Kelly Shryock captured back-to-back victories Friday and Saturday.
Saturday’s finale also brought new faces to victory lane. Dustin Gulbrandson ended Monson’s run in the Hobby Stocks, Keith Foss became the third different Modified winner in three nights, and Dustin Kruse claimed the final B-Mod feature.
From the opening main event to the final checkered flag, the Fall Futurity gave competitors opportunities to make their mark—and several made the most of them.
Thursday: Monson brothers trade the lead as Dais claims two victories
Four USRA divisions kicked off the Fall Futurity on Thursday, with the QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks providing an opening-night family showdown.
Joshua and Jacob Monson swapped the lead several times throughout the 15-lap main event. When the checkered flag fell, Joshua had secured the victory and the $500 payday, with Jacob finishing second.
Bryce Sommerfeld completed the podium in third, Parker Anderson finished fourth and Tanner Green rounded out the top five.
The PEM Racing Gears & Drivetrain USRA B-Mods were next, and Dan Hovden converted his pole starting position into a feature victory.
Jake Richards claimed second, while Taylor Skauge advanced from ninth to third. Ben Moudry also worked forward, moving from eighth to fourth, and Dale Schwamman completed the top five.
In the Mel Hambelton Ford USRA Modified A-Main, Dais collected the first half of his opening-night double. Alex Williamson finished second, Lyle Sathoff placed third, Ben Nading took fourth and Jason Hahne finished fifth.
Dais returned for the Edelbrock USRA Stock Car main event and added another victory. Starting outside the front row, he secured the win to complete a two-division sweep and establish himself as one of the weekend’s leading performers.
Derek Green took the runner-up finish, followed by Brandon Hare in third and Jesse Brown in fourth. Randy Foote advanced from eighth to fifth to close Thursday’s program.
Friday: Monson and Hovden go back to back
Friday’s second night challenged Thursday’s winners to repeat their success, and both Monson and Hovden answered with victories from farther back in their respective starting fields.
Monson started seventh in the QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stock A-Main and worked his way to his second consecutive win.
Anderson improved from fourth Thursday to second Friday. Dylan Nelson advanced from sixth to third, Jacob Monson finished fourth and Gulbrandson climbed from 11th to fifth.
Hovden followed with another winning performance in the KS Engineering Ironman B-Mods Driven by Harris Auto Racing. Starting fourth, he captured his second feature of the weekend.
Ty Griffith finished second, Trevor Fecht placed third and Skauge charged from 12th to fourth. Moudry gained nine positions, advancing from 14th to fifth for his second top-five finish in as many nights.
The KS Engineering Ironman Stock Cars Driven by Terminator Chassis saw Kelly Shryock earn his first victory of the weekend after starting sixth.
Chanse Hollatz finished second, while Dais delivered another strong performance by advancing from 14th to third. Chaz Baca placed fourth and Green completed the top five.
Tyson Roush captured the Mesilla Valley Transportation USRA Tuner main event. Ryan Bryant took second, Dillon Riehle moved from seventh to third, Landon Johnson finished fourth and Dalton Fels rounded out the top five.
The Mel Hambelton Ford USRA Modifieds closed Friday’s racing with a 20-lap main event. Williamson improved on his Thursday runner-up finish by claiming the victory, becoming the division’s second winner of the weekend.
Landon Volkman finished second, Dais placed third and Sathoff took fourth. Foss completed the top five before returning Saturday with a victory still within reach.
Saturday: Gulbrandson, Foss and Kruse break through
With one final night remaining, Saturday gave drivers another chance to turn a strong weekend into a winning one.
Gulbrandson seized that opportunity in the 15-lap QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stock main event. After advancing to fifth Friday, he captured Saturday’s victory and ended Monson’s two-night winning streak.
Monson finished second, closing the Fall Futurity with two wins and a runner-up result. Anderson took third, Jacob Monson finished fourth and Jeremy Wegner completed the top five.
Roush made it two victories in two nights in the Mesilla Valley Transportation USRA Tuners, winning Saturday’s main event from seventh on the starting grid.
Bryant advanced from eighth to second, earning his second consecutive runner-up finish. Levi Volkert placed third, Riehle finished fourth and Perry Kessel rounded out the top five.
Foss wheeled his No. 95 machine into Hamilton County Speedway’s victory lane in the Mel Hambelton Ford USRA Modified A-Main. His win gave the division three different winners over the three-night event.
Dais finished second, completing a Modified weekend that included a victory Thursday and a third-place finish Friday. Williamson took third after finishing second Thursday and winning Friday.
Sathoff finished fourth and Hahne completed the top five.
Kruse claimed the KS Engineering Ironman B-Mods Driven by Harris Auto Racing finale from the pole position, stopping Hovden’s bid for a third consecutive victory.
Fecht finished second, Griffith advanced from 10th to third and Hovden placed fourth.
Skauge delivered one of the weekend’s standout drives, advancing from 25th to fifth. His gain of 20 positions capped three nights of forward progress: ninth to third Thursday, 12th to fourth Friday and 25th to fifth Saturday.
The KS Engineering Ironman Stock Cars Driven by Terminator Chassis brought the weekend to a close. Shryock won from the pole position to complete his Friday-Saturday sweep.
Green finished second, Hare advanced from seventh to third and Dais moved from 11th to fourth. Brock Badger completed the top five in the final main event of the Fall Futurity.
Repeat winners and determined charges define the weekend
The Fall Futurity’s results reflected both the consistency of its repeat winners and the persistence of competitors who kept working toward a breakthrough.
Dais earned two opening-night victories and finished in the top four in all six of his Modified and Stock Car main events. Monson’s two Hobby Stock wins and Saturday runner-up finish made him a contender throughout the weekend, while Hovden paired two B-Mod victories with a fourth-place finish in the finale.
Roush and Shryock each swept their division’s Friday and Saturday features. Williamson, Gulbrandson, Foss and Kruse also claimed victories, ensuring the weekend concluded with a mix of repeat winners and new drivers celebrating in victory lane.
Behind the winners, drivers including Skauge, Moudry, Griffith, Bryant and Dais demonstrated how much could be gained by working through the field. Those advances added another dimension to three nights of competition on the Webster City half-mile.
Inaugural Cheaters Night set for October 24
