USMTS Roars into Kansas for $10,000 Season-Ending Doubleheader and Championship Celebration
WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (October 27, 2026) — Twenty-eight years of heart-pounding action, thousands of laps, countless battles, and some of the toughest Modified competitors in America have helped build the Summit Racing Equipment United States Modified Touring Series presented by RacinDirt.com into one of the premier dirt track racing organizations in the country.
Now, after another incredible season of racing across America's heartland, it's time for one final weekend of horsepower, dirt, excitement, and celebration!
The 2026 USMTS campaign will come to a thrilling conclusion this Friday and Saturday, October 30-31, with a pair of $5,000-to-win events in the Sunflower State of Kansas.
The weekend begins Friday night at the legendary Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, for the 12th Annual Kansas City Sizzler, before heading south on Saturday to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas, for the 5th Annual Modified Spooktacular.
With $10,000 in first-place money available over two nights, some of the best Modified drivers in the country will have one final opportunity to put their names in the USMTS record books before the curtain officially closes on the 2026 season.
And while the racing promises to be spectacular, this weekend is about much more than just winning races.
It's about celebrating the drivers, teams, sponsors, fans, and everyone who has helped make another season of USMTS racing possible.
It's also about crowning a champion, honoring an outstanding rookie, and giving the fans one final opportunity to witness the best of the best battling door-to-door.
The action gets underway Friday, October 30, when the USMTS Modifieds invade the historic Lakeside Speedway for the 12th Annual Kansas City Sizzler.
For the first time since August 9, 2024, the roar of the USMTS Modifieds will return to the famous 4/10-mile semi-banked dirt oval.
The last time the series visited Lakeside Speedway, Tyler Wolff drove into Victory Lane, and you can bet he and the rest of the USMTS stars will be looking to add another victory to their résumés.
Lakeside Speedway has long been known for its high-speed action, multiple racing grooves, and exciting Modified competition. With $5,000 waiting for Friday night's winner, there will be plenty of motivation for drivers to put everything on the line.
Joining the USMTS Modifieds on Friday night's racing card will be the USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods, giving fans three exciting divisions of dirt track racing.

After Friday night's excitement in Kansas City, the USMTS traveling road show heads to Park City, Kansas, on Saturday, October 31, for the 5th Annual Modified Spooktacular at 81 Speedway.
And what better way to celebrate Halloween than with some of the scariest-fast Modified drivers in the country battling for another $5,000 top prize?
The 3/8-mile semi-banked dirt "D" oval has produced some outstanding USMTS racing over the years, and Saturday night's season finale should be no exception.
The most recent USMTS winner at 81 Speedway was Jim Chisholm on October 26, 2024, and the Minnesota standout will certainly be among the drivers hoping to return to Victory Lane.
But Saturday night isn't just about the racing.
It's Halloween, and the USMTS family is making sure the kids get to enjoy the festivities, too!
TRICK OR TREAT IN THE PITS — BRING THE KIDS!
One of the highlights of Saturday's Modified Spooktacular will be the special Halloween Walk through the pit area from 1:30 to 3:00 PM.
During this time, everyone will be allowed into the pits free of charge so the kids can walk around in their Halloween costumes, meet their favorite drivers, see the race cars up close, and collect candy from the competitors.
We are expecting more than 300 kids to participate in this special Halloween tradition!
ATTENTION DRIVERS AND RACE TEAMS:
If you are planning to compete Saturday night at 81 Speedway, please make sure you bring plenty of candy!
With more than 300 youngsters expected to roam the pit area, we want to make sure every little racer, princess, superhero, monster, and ghost leaves with a smile and a bag full of treats.
This is a tremendous opportunity for drivers and teams to give back to the younger fans who look up to them.
After all, these kids are the future of our sport, and you never know which one might someday be sitting behind the wheel of a USMTS Modified.
We encourage all drivers and teams to participate and help make this a Halloween these youngsters won't soon forget.
Once the candy has been handed out and the costumes have made their rounds, it will be time to fire up the engines for one final night of USMTS competition in 2026.
Joining the Modifieds on Saturday's program will be the USRA B-Mods and Mini Stocks, making for another outstanding night of racing.

BRANDON DAVIS SET TO CLAIM THE 2026 USMTS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
One of the biggest storylines heading into the final weekend of the season belongs to a driver who has proven once again that he belongs among the elite Modified competitors in the country.
Brandon Davis of Hayfield, Minnesota, is set to become the 2026 USMTS National Champion!
When Davis checks in at the back gate Friday night at Lakeside Speedway, the championship will officially belong to the Minnesota racer.
Saturday night at 81 Speedway, following the completion of the A-Mains, Davis and his team will receive special recognition as the 2026 USMTS National Champions.
And yes, there will be some bottles popping!
After the season these competitors have put together, they've earned the right to celebrate.
GABE HODGES CLAIMS GRANT JUNGHANS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR HONORS!
Another young driver who deserves a tremendous amount of recognition is Gabe Hodges, who has already secured the 2026 Grant Junghans Rookie of the Year Championship.
The prestigious award honors the memory of Grant Junghans and recognizes an outstanding first-year competitor in the USMTS ranks.
Hodges made his presence known early in the season when he captured his first career USMTS victory during the opening night of the 15th Annual King of America at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.
The Grant Junghans Rookie of the Year Award comes with a $10,000 payday, but the recognition and honor associated with the award mean just as much.
Hodges will join Davis in Saturday night's post-race championship celebration at 81 Speedway.
